OVERVIEW
Grammar is the next stage after Phonics. It teaches the structured side of literacy. Grammar teaches spelling rules, punctuation, parts of speech dictionary use, and the tenses past, present, and future. It helps children bring diversity to their writing and improves spelling and punctuation. more complex grammatical concepts, such as comparatives and superlatives, are also introduced and are explained in a child-friendly way. Proofreading activities give the children the opportunity to practice using dictionaries and thesauruses and regular cloze activities help them to develop their comprehension skills.
